Gangsters' Room |1 Day Lighting and Composition

I wanted to make a composition where the lights were highlighted or had a huge contrast regarding the environment. So I based my composition on black and white noir movies where you can see clearly where the lights are or influences. Nonetheless, to highlight the bag of gold, I wanted to give it contrast with a color (yellow), like how movies such as Sin City (Frank Miller) and Schindler’s List (Steven Speilberg) do use the color red.

I chose those specific sections to have light because I did not want to give a feeling that the environment is an office (like how the section where doesn’t have light is). I wanted to give a feeling of noir where the section with a bottle of wine, a couch, a chair and a bag of gold seems to be similar to a private place where a group of gangsters or mafia would be spending time together.
